About Barthélémy Longueville
He probably had his first step into photography with an old and broken camera without any film loaded. Inspired by this childhood memory, Barthelemy Longueville sees photography at first as a selfish attempts to preserve specific streams of feelings for which the process of photography is somehow more important than the final print. Since his first films, exposed in 1996, he is carrying everywhere a notebook, a camera and a bunch of film rolls and is working in parallel on everlasting projects. He cofounded B.O.P. with fellow French photographer Arnaud De Grave) with the project to promote a certain idea of photography, where the necessary time is spent for things to be done and seen, from the first idea, the shooting, the processing, to the selection and exchanges with the other members. Born is France, he is now living in China.
